Know How To Use 'No Use' In English Writing & Speaking

In Advanced English, especially in Advanced English Speaking, people often use the phrase 'No Use' which means 'Not useful or Not helpful or Not possible or Useless'.

Let's Understand This By Taking Some Examples,

For example, when we say: 'It's no use crying anymore.', we mean that it is useless to cry anymore.

Let's Take Another Example,

When we say: 'It's no use. I can't do it right now.', we mean that 'It's not possible. I can't do it right now.'


* So, Of no use/No use = Not Helpful or Not Useful or Not Possible or Useless | Of no advantage or help

* 'It's of no use' means 'Something is useless to someone'.

* Sentence Formation: Noun/Pronoun/It +is/are/was/were/will be + of no use/no use + other words

Let's Take Some Examples To Understand This Better,

1) After the wedding is over, these flowers will be of no use to anyone, so don't spend much on flowers. [After the wedding is over, these flowers will be useless, so don't spend much on flowers.]

2) There is no use (in) arguing with him anymore.

3) It's no use trying (= there is no purpose in trying) to escape - no one ever gets out of here.

4) It's of no use to look for that missing chain. We lost it two months ago.

5) It's no use asking her to go. He won't go now.

6) Take away this old computer from my desk. It is of no use to me now. I've already bought a new one.

7)  Never think that old people are of no use in our society.

8) After the ceremony, these things are of no use to us. You can send them to the owner.

9) They're of no use here, let them go now.

10) Throw these expired medicines. They are of no use anymore.

11) I've decided to sell this old bike. It's of no use to me. I'm gonna buy a new one.

12) This grammar book is of no use to advanced English learners.

13) We need new equipment. This equipment is of no use for surgeries.


* Be of no use to: You're too tired to work more. Get some rest or you'll be of no use to anyone.


* It's no use / It's of no use = It's useless. [It's no use + Verb-ing + Obj]

Now, Have a Look at the Sentences Below,

1) It's no use crying anymore. [It's useless to cry anymore.]

2) It's no use complaining again and again. [It's useless to cry again and again.]

3) He is not aware of the present situation in our country. It's no use talking to him about the matter.

4) It's no use eating foods again and again. Over-eating can damage your health.

5) It's no use repairing this bike. You should buy a new bike.

6) It's no use calling a doctor. The patient is no more.

7) It's no use crying over spilt milk.

8) It was no use separating them. They got back together again.

9) It was no use complaining again and again. The authorities turned a deaf ear to our problems.

10) It's no use talking to him. He won't listen.

 11) It's no use. I can't do it. [It's not possible. I can't do it.]

12) A Short Conversation:

Tom: You should talk to her.

John: It's no use. I can't make her understand my feelings.

13) It's no use repenting now.

14) It's no use scolding me. I'm too tired to complete this task. Go and do it yourself.
